The first step on the path to making any dream or goal come true is to "name" it. Philosophers and anthropologists often speak of naming as a way of differentiating one thing or concept from another, a way of giving it individuality, spirit, and life within a culture. The same is true for our dreams. At first they are simply a piece of mental embroidery we work on in spare moments, a little flash here, a little drama there-but once we speak out loud or write down the direction we would like to take, once we share the idea with others-it is then that we have given the idea enough power that we can begin to move toward its accomplishment, its reality.
